She won a Drivers Choice Spot Prize and finished 4th at one event, and in 7th place in the Wild Bunch Series - a great debut season! She is a keen, friendly, popular addition to the Bunch!
Best Altered

Ant Harris, WB 52, "Frantic" Altered
Frantic is a well-presented and maintained, striking-looking car, which ran 6 events this season. Ant lowered his PB E.T. to a 9.527 @ 141 mph, and won two Best Altered Spot Prizes, a Best Appearing Car award, a Best Burnout prize and Closest to Dial-in during the season. Best Turned Out

C&C Drag Racing Team, WB 6, "Backdraft" Slingshot
The C&C Drag Racing Team of Crazy Chris Hartnell and Claire and Mark, shows great all-round attention to detail in the presentation of their Backdraft slingshot, nostalgic appearance of the driver and crew, and themed pit area, with smart new trailer. They won Spot prizes for Best Slingshot, Best Appearing Team and Best Appearing Car & Team with their great overall sparkly red package.
Best Achiever

Darryl Howells, WB 67, "Chemical Reaction" Slingshot
Darryl re-debuted the well-turned out Chemical Reaction at the beginning of the season, after a year re-building, and attended every event. He won Spot Prizes for Best Appearing Car, #1 Qualifier, Drivers Choice and Best Slingshot as well as winning an event and having two 2nd and two 3rd place finishes. He had TWO Series wins, in Real Steel and Roy Wilding, and TWO Series 3rd places. To top it all off, he gradually improved the cars performance, resulting in PBs in the 9.9s. Great achievements for his first full season for some time!
Perseverance Award

Chris Hartnell, WB 6, "Backdraft" Slingshot
Chris is now a seasoned driver and started the year testing a brand new axle which he had built and modified after a previously unsuccessful event. There were endless teething problems and a distinct drop in performance along the way, but he still kept plugging away to try to improve, despite all of this. During the season he won several Spot Prizes with Backdraft, and an event, and eventually finished 2nd in the Real Steel and Roy Wilding Series and 5th in the Wild Bunch Series, after all his hard work!
Daddy Cool (Sags) Personal Achievement

Tony Smith, WB 1, "The Cunning Plan"
Tony is an integral member of the Wild Bunch, who has won the Wild Bunch Series for a record fourth time, through his driving ability, perseverance on a limited budget and commitment. He also does a great deal for Shakespeare County Raceway and indeed for the sport of Drag Racing in general, most of this unsung, and behind the scenes. Recently he has given a huge amount of his own spare time, at no little expense, to diligently train and become a qualified scrutineer, partly to help out, as is his nature, and partly out of enthusiasm and passion for the sport, and to benefit others. His honesty and integrity is beyond question, as is his intention to help other racers where he can. Tony deserves admiration and respect for all the extra effort and dedication he has shown in achieving his goal of becoming a qualified scrutineer.
Derek & Brenda Annable trophy

Bruno & Sophie Sanderson-Brown
This award was initiated by Derek and Brenda to be presented to a couple or partnership who are committed to Drag Racing, and demonstrate the family spirit of the Wild Bunch.
Last years winners, Jim & Tush Usher, have chosen Bruno and Sophie as the 2007 winners because of their long-standing commitment to the sport. They are a great husband and wife partnership, with each putting in long hours of hard work, to do the best they can for the racers and the track, and the sport in general, for which we thank them. They are truly dedicated to Drag Racing.
C & C Sportsperson

Helen & Dean Smythe, WB 38, "Hells Belle"
Helen and Dean have not been able to race their own car, Hells Belle this season but have still been a big part of the Wild Bunch, often coming to the tracks to help crew for other teams. They have been around taking photos, giving advice, helping several teams with repairs and rebuilds, and generally cheering on all the other racers. They are friendly, helpful, encouraging and supportive. They are real sports!
DON GARLITS SPIRIT OF DRAG RACING SHIELD

Darryl & Sarah Howells of D.A.S.H. RACING
Darryl and Sarah have been enthusiastic members of the Wild Bunch for several years. They have raced a variety of cars, and have steadily been improving the appearance and performance of their current car. They took part in all the events at all 3 tracks this year, running both MSA and RWYB events. They won half a dozen Spot Prizes along the way, as well as winning an event and having five place finishes, and a lot of fun! Both members of the team have achieved great success this year with Darryl having two Series Wins and two Series 3rd places, and recording his first ever 9.9s, whilst Sarah has run two different cars, done a lot of great crewing and achieved her first ever 8.9s! This cheerful and much-loved pair always have time to help and encourage others and support and promote the Wild Bunch.
