Hi everybody! Here is the news from the fantastic 36th NSRA ‘Hot Rod Drags’ on 13th - 15th September, at Santa Pod. A fantastic event where we were lucky with the weather and completed 3 full rounds, despite some late sprinkles of rain!!

This event was Wild Bunch Series Round 4, Spirit of Nostalgia Series Round 6 and Roy Wilding Nostalgia Race Cars Series Round 3 (Final). The Wild Bunch had an excellent total of 29 teams participating at the event: 9 altereds, 17 slingshots, 1 rear-engined dragster and 2 funny cars, with 1 British Drag Racing Hall of Fame members amongst them tuning their car with their son driving! 24 teams participated in the competition rounds on Sunday.

More news will be added when possible!

Excellent to see a really big field of great cars and teams for our final RWYB-type event of the season!

Friday was a Run-What-You-Brung day and 13 teams were out testing that day.

On Saturday we had 3 rounds scheduled during the Race class sections of the day. Our first session took place around 11:00am and our second at 4:00pm, a fair bit after the scheduled time. Due to a lot of downtime during the day, there was only time for the two rounds.

Unfortunately, due to all of the downtime during the day, the ‘Cracklefest’ had to be cancelled.

On Sunday, we ran our first round at about 10:00am. Our second was around 2:15pm, and the third around 4:15pm. Overall we were very lucky considering there were some spots of rain during the queue for both our 2nd and 3rd rounds! Fair play to all at Santa Pod for getting all the racing completed!  So it was great to get 3 rounds in!

Here are the PBs (and there were a lot of them!!!):

Many Congratulations to all those who ran PB’s at the weekend, especially those who kept setting and re-setting them!! Brilliant!!

Huge commiserations to all those who had issues and best of luck with the repairs for next season!!

Highlights of the weekend include the large and awesome field of Wild Bunch, completing 3 rounds of great competition, and of course the brilliant group of cars and people, who all put on a fantastic show and did themselves proud as usual!!

Huge thanks to all the Santa Pod marshals and officials, track and safety and medical crews and organisers and Alan Martin, Martyn Payne and all at the NSRA for all their hard work!! It is so much appreciated!! Another excellent event!!  Thanks to all on the eurodragster team this weekend, especially Graham for his excellent reporting and mention of our sponsors and the photography team!!
