Daddy Cool (Sags) Personal Achievement
Sarah HowellsThis person is a long-time enthusiastic member of the Wild Bunch. They have shown great determination this year in achieving an incredible personal goal, despite experiencing an accident and injury, and always with a smile along the way. They continued to work and train hard in order to not only complete the difficult Great North Run Half Marathon, but also to raise around £4000 (£8000 when her company doubles it) for a very worthy charity, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, all the while doing so in memory of another lovely lady, Paula Marshall. This lovely lady herself was a former winner of this award in 2001 and has had a truly remarkable Personal Achievement! Congratulations! |
Derek & Brenda Annable trophy
Carla Pittau and Rick McCannLast year's winners Chris Hartnell & Claire Meaddows, along with Ian & Paula Marshall, chose the 2013 winners because of their commitment to the sport of Drag Racing. They show never-ending dedication, professionalism and fighting spirit. They always have time for other racers and will always do whatever it takes to get their respective cars to the track even if it does mean a 160-mile round trip in the dead of the night to fix a transmission or something in the axle or engine. Similarly they are always there to help others and not just those in their class of Pro ET. They will always be available to mediate if there is a problem somewhere. They typify what Drag Racing is about in this country and long may they continue! They are a truly great example of a dedicated couple in our great family of drag racing! Oh, and anybody that launches with a wheelie always gets the extra vote! |

TEAM TIKI MUNKIThis year's winners have been dedicated members of the Wild Bunch for many years. They always put on a really authentic nostalgic show whenever they race, and show attention to detail on maintaining the appearance of their well-turned out, unique vehicle, which is always being developed. Great thought goes into the teamwear and support vehicle, and a theme is maintained throughout. They have persevered this season in gaining consistency and performance and have achieved several goals. They are always willing to help and encourage other racers and do so with great humour, sportsmanship and enthusiasm. They took part in 6 events this year and showed great commitment to get to each one, whilst juggling the demands of a young family and a budget.
