What do you know about the axle and what make of floater/spool does it have? I take it you have a spool?
Unless you have an unusual (home made or very old) fully floating rear end you will need shafts and drive plates, as opposed to conventional axles that have the shaft and flange (drive plate) combined.
The drive plates have an internal spline and are also drilled to suit the wheel stud bolt pattern. They slide over the wheel studs and are usually secured to the floaters by countersunk screws, although depending on the design/age of the floaters the method of fixing may be different.
The shafts have an external spline on both ends, one end goes into the spool and the other into the drive plate.
There are various US manufacturers out there, Mark William and Strange for example. They will ask for various bits of info and dimensions, take time in doing this or repent when they arrive and are too long, or the wrong amount of splines... or both.
Have fun, hope that helps.
