This was the final round of Super Series and we had a field of 12 Wild Bunch cars. At the start of the event Chris Hartnell was leading Angi Wilding, followed closely by Steve Goode, after four rounds of Super Series.

There was a complete rain-off on Sunday, and no eliminations at all took place, so the weekend was dominated by qualifying - and what great qualifying that was - best ever in Wild Bunch at Super Series!! There was actually even time for 4 rounds of qualifying at this event!!
Round 1
Chris Hartnell set an early qualifying mark which looked good, until the competition got closer and closer!
Wendy Baker ran a 10.013 on a 10.00 dial-in side-by-side with Colin Aldred's 10.915 on a 10.90 dial-in - so close!
Chevone Charman-Osborne was in only her second outing in the "Alkymist" and ran a solid 10.3 to start off. In between the 1st and 4th qualifiers, the team worked hard on the diff, etc, to get the car ready again.
Darryl Howells set a new personal best of 12.471 in round 1, breaking out the least of the day!
Angi ran a second slower than her dial-in as they were trying out some new jets (immediately removed!).
Steve Goode ran 11.860 in "Wobble" and Nick Connor 12.469 for their best qualifying. (Nick had only finished rebuilding his box on friday!)
Ray Ford and Paul Croston were forced to sit it out with "firing up" problems.
Sarah Howells was first in the newly-engined "Nutcracker" running it in with a 14.654.
Round 2
Chris ran within 2 thousandths of his first run, 9.496 on a 9.40, against Tony Smith who ran a 12.308 on a 12.30 for top qualifier. Chris's good reaction time made up the difference and at the finish line, Chris won the "race" by only .001 of a second!!!! Can't get any closer than that!!!
Ray was in his first outing in "RamRaider" since Ed had set the bench mark 10.4 - he ran a new p.b. of 10.562.
Angi dialled in at 10.53 and ran a great personal best of 10.368 - well done to her and Roy - that car's well sorted now Nick and Sarah both ran under their dial-ins.
Round 3
Wendy's crew had re-sorted the car after diff and steering problems and she ran a strong, encouraging personal best of 9.385 ( she's now finally quicker than "Crazy Chris"!).
Ray had "best reaction" and also set another personal best of 10.429, once again quickest in the "Dog's Bollocks" team - who's up for the first "9" then?!
Angi ran another solid 10.390, qualifying 6th and Nick Connor once again broke out and set another p.b. of 11.690. Sarah refined her dial-in to a 14.32 and ran 14.347!
Round 4
Wendy ran a good 9.432 and Chevone ran a 9.462 personal best in the r.e.d., only 2 thousandths slower than her p.b. In "Odditee"!
Tony had taken the body off "The Cunning Plan" to see if he could beat crewman Dave's best 11.8 in the car and ran a good 12.071 - close to 11 but no cigar!
Paul ran his first 12 of the day with a 12.923.
Nick Connor once more broke out and lowered his personal best to an 11.557 - worth all that hard work!!
Sarah and Darryl both ran close to their dial-ins and the score was 2-0 to Sarah for their races that day!!
A great day's qualifying with some really close match racing, which had promised some exciting eliminations!!

Points have been awarded for the qualifying only and "Crazy" Chris Hartnell has won the Super Series for wild bunch in 2000, with Angi second. Congratulations to Chris for winning for the second year in a row and to Angi - great performance from her, especially considering all the problems with the car this year! and well done to all the other 17 drivers who took part in Super Series this season! They're all getting the hang of this E.T. racing!! And thanks to all involved in making the Super Series such a great success!!
