This is the second time this has happened to us; The Cam sprocket has come loose on the cam and made the dowel hole oval in the cam.
Were running a locking plate mechanism but it still seems to work loose.

Does anybody know what the torque settings are for the cam bolts and is there an upgrade kit to sort this problem out, ie bigger bolts etc?

Thanks

Hi, meant to be 20 pound foot with thread lock. Do keep an eye on it, we had one come loose last year, jacked the cam back against the timing cover, pushed it through the gear drive and destroyed a bunch of lifters and the cam, the debris went through the oil pump screen, through the pump (buggered) and by then was just small enough to see off three main bearings and the crank !

Memo to self, do not try to do critical stuff at 3am the morning you leave for the track it will go wrong !
